What’s up! It’s been a while since I posted here. Hope you are doing well and enjoying the art of scratching.
I just updated my 2 Scratch Speed Booster albums with some new tracks to help you practice increasing the speed of your cuts.
I’m giving 3 of them away as free downloads here, so read on for all the info and download link.
What is a Scratch Speed Booster?
A Speed Booster is an instrumental beat / audio file where the tempo increases over time. For example, the tempo increases 1 bpm every 8 bars or 16 bars. This saves you manually increasing the speed of a beat by adjusting your pitch slider. These beats increase in speed for you automatically, so that you can focus on practicing your cuts and staying in the zone of concentration.
You can use these beats to practice new scratches to, or for working on speeding up your existing scratches.
What’s New?
The idea of these new tracks is to help you practice your scratching deliberately and to slowly increase the tempo of your cuts.
Each of these new tracks just added is under 5 minutes, to give you a short scratch workout, that will help you slowly increase the speed of your cuts.
Each track has a range of 5 bpm to keep things manageable.
For each track, the tempo increases by 1 bpm every 16 bars.

A Final Word on Speed
Remember, speed is not the end goal in and of itself, self expression is, and speed is one aspect of expression.
By training and developing the ability to perform scratches at faster tempos, new levels of expression open up for you, over faster beats that move you to cut it up.
As always, keep practicing and keep it funky!
Happy Scratching!
– Emma
