Hey folks!
Welcome to Day 23 of 30 Days of Scratching. For a full overview and instructions on how to join in please visit 30 Days of Scratching Day 1.
Day 23
Beat used: Lorde Royals Instrumental.
Scratch Record Used: At the start of the video I was scratching with the very beginning and end vocals from the Lorde Royals Single. I then moved onto using Digital Skipless Scratch Record #27
Have you seen the Ultimate Scratch Samples release?
Background Info
I went for something musically a bit different today. I have been playing this track for a while and found an instrumental version. I was going to scratch over this with scratch samples but after some experimentation I found that I could scratch with the original vocals from the full track. I wanted to get away from using the average scratch sounds and try it out. It was fun to do.
What wasn’t so fun was forgetting to hit record in Serato (again) and having to record again. Even though the line into the camera captured the first take audio, the sound quality was not great as recording in Serato, so I decided to do another take.
I also figured out how to load a new track (scratch samples) using just the Rane TTM 57sl controls, so no touching the computer. It’s the little things!
Today’s quote:
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.”

Who knows where you might end up!
