Background Info
For todays video, I chose another non traditional track for scratching over. A lighthearted 80s classic. Gotta love a bit of electro!
I chose to loop up 2 different sections of the track to keep things interesting.
In the first loop section I am attempting to copy the instrumentals musical rhythms with my scratching. I also did this in this video. This is quite fun to try out if you haven’t already. You can do this with any track with a rhythm that is clear enough.
I was looking in the Scratch Live software for a way to quickly switch between the loops with 1 button press on my TTM 57sl but couldn’t figure it out. I managed to trigger a loop with 1 button but not switch to the next loop. If you know how to do this on the TTM 57sl, please let me know in the comments or send me a mail here! I have also asked in the Serato forums so when I find out I will share with you all.
On reflection, the scratch samples are maybe just a little loud in relation to the music. Remember to check the gain / levels!
Today’s quote:
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.”
