Welcome to Day 29 of 30 Days of Scratching. Only one more video after today!
For a full overview please visit 30 Days of Scratching Day 1.
Beat used: DJ Shadow – What Does Your Soul Look Like? (Part 2)
Today’s video was inspired by the awesome D-Styles and Melo D in this performance.
They cut so well over this instrumental and this is me having some fun over it. I have much work and practice to do!
I used 2 different records and 2 different loops (from the same instrumental), check the break at 05:56.
It is not possible to use one button to quickly jump from loop 1 to loop 2 (confirmed by Serato support), so I cut the video together to make it a tight transition.
I used my Rane TTM 57sl mixer’s inbuilt echo effect set to 1/4 of the beat BPM. Click here to learn how to sync the echo to the BPM of the beat (scroll down in the article).
Can you believe that there is only 1 more video left in this series?! What’s next? I am hard at work on the School of Scratch training site.
