Over at School of Scratch we are gearing up to learn the BoomFlare.
Sometimes before I teach scratches, I have to learn them! Here’s what that looks like and a rough breakdown.
I’d spent some time learning using a diagram and this was my first go at locking it down slowly.
Note: the diagram in the video has extra sounds at the end, ignore those. I’m doing the first 12 sounds only.
- 00:00 – Demo / practicing the pattern.
- 01:18 – Breakdown.
- 02:40 – Demo with a faster beat.
- 03:25 – My process of learning this scratch.

Shout out to SoS student Thomas C for breaking it down. Thomas is always learning and is keen to share. Thanks T!
Also to Rob D on YouTube for the breakdown.
The full produced HD video featuring an overhead view and super detailed breakdown and tutorial including timings is coming to School of Scratch soon.
