Combo Idea 1 – Reverse Crab to Tear / Release.

April 29, 2015

Here is a 15 second combo idea / demo / mini tutorial for you.

Please note that this is NOT a full tutorial, simply an idea to trigger your own creativity and expression.

You’ll need a basic knowledge of fundamental scratch techniques and being able to read simple scratch notation diagrams will also help.

Technique Breakdown

Combine a reverse crab, tear and release with some clever timing to get a funky syncopated rhythm.

  • Reverse Crab (3 or 4 sounds – whatever you decide).
  • Forward Tear (1 sound).
  • Forward / Release (1 sound).

Repeat the pattern twice in total.

Scratch Notation

If you want to learn this scratch in more detail I have broken the technique and timing down in great detail inside my School of Scratch. You also get the chance to practice it with me in a QnA Practice at the end of the video.

You can preview the official lesson and get a few more tips here:

> Reverse Crab > Tear / Release

I have got a ton of these combos / mini tutorial breakdowns to share. Let me know if they help.

Happy Scratching! 😀
