If you are not getting better at scratching or feel like you are stagnating even though you are spending a lot of timing working hard at it, the principles in this videos put into action can help.
You are not alone, we all go through this. Let’s see what can help:
“Working hard but not improving? You’re not alone. Eduardo Briceño reveals a simple way to think about getting better at the things you do, whether that’s work, parenting or creative hobbies. And he shares some useful techniques so you can keep learning and always feel like you’re moving forward.”
Overview
- Stagnation despite hard work is common.
- Learning Zone vs Performance Zone – alternate between the two.
- Learning Zone:
- Goal: improve
- Activities for: improvement
- Concentrate on: what we haven’t mastered yet.
- Mistakes to be: expected
- Performance Zone:
- Goal: do as best we can
- Activities for: execution
- Concentrate on: what we have mastered.
- Mistakes to be: minimised.
- Both zones should be part of our practice.
- Being clear about when you want to be in each of them
- understanding our goal, focus and expectations, helps us better perform and better improve.
- The Performance Zone maximizes our immediate performance.
- The Learning Zone maximizes our growth and our future performance.
- The reason many of us don’t improve much despite our hard work is that we tend to spend almost all of our time in the performance zone.
- This hinders our growth, and ironically, over the long term, also our performance.
Stay tuned for more ideas on how to use the learning zone to improve your scratching.
