Scratch Combo Tutorial – Autobahn > Crab > Transforms

June 26, 2015

This is a full length scratch tutorial from inside the School of Scratch classroom, so you can get an idea of what we are learning together and if you would like to join our online learning community. The format of the tutorials has changed slightly recently in that I am now on camera talking directly to you. That also means there are bloopers!

Although this is an advanced combo, if you take it slowly, I think you might surprise yourself!

As with all the School’s tutorials, I’ve broken this technique down into the smallest possible steps to give you the absolute best chance of learning it.

Ready? Let’s GO!

Autobahn > Crabs > Transforms Combo

Overview

Add a reverse dice, crab and some transforms to the 9 sound Autobahn and you get this funky triplet pattern.

Scratches that will help you with this combo: Dices, Crab, Transforms, 9 Sound (fast) Autobahn.

Technique Breakdown

  • Do a 9 sound autobahn.
  • Add an extra reverse dice on the end to make an extra sound. End with the fader open.
  • = 10 total sounds.
  • Do a crab forward to make 3 or 4 sounds. End with the fader closed.
  • Do 3 transforms back.
  • End with a release / forward.
  • That’s it!
