Why The DJ World Needs You To Be YOU

July 24, 2014

be you

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

– Howard Thurman

The world doesn’t need you to scratch just like everyone else.

The world needs you to scratch like YOU.

When you scratch like you, your sound comes alive and makes us all smile!

So today…

Use vinyl.

Use DVS.

Use a controller.

Use all three! At the same time.

Do what YOU do!

Do the prism scratch.

Don’t do the prism scratch.

Scratch over slow beats.

Scratch over fast beats.

Scratch over salsa if you like it!

Only do chirps.

Never do chirps.

It really doesn’t matter!

Today, forget what everyone else is doing and saying and scratch how you want to. Tune into your own beat for a minute.

Pour yourself into it. You might be surprised at the result.

Here is someone doing just that:

Happy Scratching! 😀

– Emma Short-E
